We assign value to the visuals we encounter: some art speaks to us, and some not. Someone may see hope while another may see hardship. This is when art is functioning as a mirror to what’s inside of our minds. This perception is affected by our experiences and memories. Regardless of its subjectivity, there are some true absolutes in art, such as composition, harmony, balance, patterns, style and craftsmanship.
